Whether you want to camp more comfortably, catch more fish, own a better-behaved dog or experience an exotic hunt, the 36th annual Bismarck Tribune Sport Show's lineup of seminars is aimed at you.

Consider the roster of speakers and the variety of topics:

For today's Family Night, longtime outdoor recreationist Mark Zimmerman offers advice on "Family Canoeing on the River" at 6:30, and he will come back at 8 to detail "Outdoor Adventures for your Family."

Headlining the show is professional walleye angler Scott Fairbairn, who will give three presentations, leading off with "Four Cornerstones of Walleye Success" at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Fairbairn, no stranger to North Dakota's fisheries, will come back at 3 p.m. Saturday to give insight into "Missouri River Methodology." Fairbairn's third presentation will be at 12:30 p.m. Sunday on "Applied Walleye Tactics."

Terry Bush - the Dr. Phil of bird dogs - will discuss "Training Your Own Hunting Dog" at noon on Saturday.

The owner of Ambush Kennels in Minot will speak again at 2 p.m. Sunday on "Six Months and Younger - What Can I Do With my Dog?" Bush hopes to work with a couple of borrowed puppies for this seminar.

In "Hunting From the Ground in North Dakota," that "Ultimate Outdoor Adventures" trio of John Arman, Jason Wright and Kurt Schirado will fill you in on the virtues of ground blinds at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The team will return at 3:30 p.m. Sunday with advice on "Fishing on the Missouri and Lake Sakakawea."

Also on Saturday's schedule is "Wildlife Landscaping," in which Chris Grondahl will talk about planting your rural yard with native vegetation. He will speak at 11 a.m.

At 2 p.m. Saturday, Dick Messerly, park manager at Fort Stevenson State Park, will outline your camping options in "Camping Opportunities in North Dakota's State Parks."

At 4 p.m. Saturday, longtime Bismarck hunter Gary Stefanovsky will talk about "Caribou Hunting from Newfoundland to Alaska."

At 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Brian Kadrmas, owner of Dakota Taxidermy, will serve up advice on "Field Care Techniques and Care of your Trophies."

Dennis Clark, park manager at Cross Ranch State Park, will offer "Tips for First-time Campers" at 1 p.m. Sunday.

At 2:30 p.m. Sunday, shotgun shooting instructor Mark Sandness, owner of Capital City Sporting Clays, will offer tips and techniques for putting more birds in your bag.

Hours for the three-day show at the Bismarck Civic Center are noon to 9 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $3 per adult, $1 for kids 5 to 12 and free for kids 5 and younger. Civic Center parking is free.

More than 100 exhibitors will be on hand to show off their wares and products.

The exhibitors come from throughout North Dakota, plus every surrounding state and Canadian province. Exhibitors also are coming from Alaska, Wyoming, Nebraska and Ontario.

They will be spread out over both Civic Center rooms - about 60,000 square feet worth of space to showcase their goods or services.

Whether you want one-stop shopping for a new boat, RV or ATV, the newest in fishing gear, a once-in-a-lifetime trip or merely to check out the latest in gear and gadgets, there should be an exhibitor to pique your interest.

Friday again will focus on families and include reduced prices for the rock-climbing wall, the computerized fishing simulator and the kids' trout tank.

From 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, the record brown trout caught by Tim Johansen, of Beulah, earlier this week will be on display at the Scheels Sports booth.

And for pro football fans, the best news may be that the Sport Show wraps up well ahead of the telecast of the Super Bowl that pits Philadelphia against New England.
