WEST FARGO (AP) - A 35-year-old West Fargo man has been sentenced to life in prison for sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 15 and threatening to kill her if she told anyone.

East Central District Judge Wade Webb said during Monday's sentencing that he was taking the criminal history of Duane Schaefer into account.

Schaefer was convicted of manslaughter in juvenile court when he was 14, for killing his aunt.

Schaefer will be eligible for parole after serving 30 years on the sexual assault conviction.
