Dick Weber announced Wednesday he will seek the Democratic-NPL Senate endorsement from District 32.

Weber retired in 2001 after 26 years as vice president, administration, at Basin Electric Power Cooperative and recently finished a year as chairman of the 2003 United Way campaign and the American Heart Association Walk. He is currently the interim president for the Arts and Science Pavilion project and on the executive council for AARP North Dakota.

Weber moved to Bismarck in 1966 to be a special assistant to Gov. William Guy.

"I've served this community in many ways over the last 38 years and now it's time to seek public office. We need a common sense approach in the Legislature for health and human services issues, economic development and education," said Weber.

Republican Sen. Dick Dever is seeking re-election in District 32.
