Bismarck police are investigating five thefts from motor vehicles that resulted in losses of nearly $5,000 in property.

Lt. Randy Ziegler said one theft was reported on the 200 block of New York Street, three on the 100 block of Georgia Street and one on the 100 block of Delaware Street.

The thefts are believed to have occurred between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, and all of the vehicles were unlocked, Ziegler said.

Items stolen include a $470 iPod, several CD players and nearly $3,500 worth of CDs, Ziegler said. He said total losses from the five vehicles were $4,725.
