Hettinger - The Adams County Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. July 8 in the Adams County Courthouse community room to consider proposed amendments to the county's zoning ordinances. A copy of the proposed revisions is available at the Adams County auditor and treasurer's office.

Bowman - A meeting to get public input on the need for senior housing in the Bowman area will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bowman City Hall. Information will be provided by Southwest Healthcare Services, Bowman County Economic Development Corp. and the Bowman County Housing Authority.

Manning - The Dunn County Commission will hold a public hearing at 2 p.m. July 1 at the Dunn County Courthouse in Manning to take input on a zoning amendment that would give the county planning commission full authority to issue conditional use permits for all uses other than water depots and wind generators. Reinhard Hauck is secretary of the Dunn County Planning Commission.

Strasburg - A street dance, featuring Back Stage Pass will be held in Strasburg Saturday following the rodeo starting at 9 p.m. The dance is sponsored by The Blue Room and will be moved indoors if weather dictates.

Braddock - Braddock will celebrate its 125th anniversary starting at 7 p.m. Thursday with beard judging, and including a tractor trek from Napoleon on Friday, arts and crafts, and the main parade at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, and Big Joe's brunch at 8 a.m. Sunday at the community hall.

Elgin - The Elgin Seniors meals program will have a picnic in the park at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Elgin. Also, the summer "Pies in the Park" will be held this Friday through Aug. 28.

Anamoose - Ana and Joe Moose, the town's fictional characters, got married in Anamoose last year, and this year, the town is having a first anniversary party. Festivities will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the city park and the "bridal party" will be on hand to greet guests. There will be music, poetry and a recounting of the couple's first year together. A picnic also will be served.

Watford City - The McKenzie County Energies and Taxation Association will hold its annual meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Watford City High School media center. The meeting will include a showing of "FLOW - For Love of Water," an award-winning documentary that examines the growing privatization of fresh water.

Also, the McKenzie County fair will be held Thursday through Saturday at the fairgrounds in Watford City, with 4-H exhibits, a rodeo, draft horse competition and a free beer

Washburn - The annual Rhubarb Festival will be held Sunday at the Headwaters Fort Mandan visitor center at Washburn. SLOPE

Amidon - The Burning Coal Vein Campgrounds west of Amidon will be closed until July 1, while the U.S. Forest Service improves the campsites, access roads and provides a potable water source. When reopened, the campground fees will be $10 per night. The campground will be the southernmost trailhead for the Maah Daah Hey II trail from Medora.

Fessenden - The Wells County Fair parade will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Fessenden, and entries are asked to line up at the courthouse. The fair is Thursday through Sunday with 4-H exhibits, carnival, free stage entertainment, museum, concessions and Johnny Holmes in concert at 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the grandstand.
