A fundraising team scavenger hunt called "Snow Search" is set for Jan. 10 to benefit the Missouri Slope Areawide United Way.

Besides the scavenger hunt, the event includes a silent auction, food, music and prizes.

Teams of four are invited to participate for a cost of $25 per person and are asked to furnish one silent auction item valued at $25 or more.

During the competition, each team has two hours to get as many items or points as they can on the official Snow Search list, which is provided but not revealed until the day of the hunt. Teams work together to determine what items are possible and strategize to locate items with more points.

The team with the most points wins the Snow Search. In case of a tie, bonus points will be awarded for style and themed or costumed teams. Judges' decisions are final. A traveling trophy will be awarded to the winning teams.

The headquarters for the hunt is the Elks Club on South Washington Street, Bismarck. Hours are 3:30 to 7 p.m. Food and music will be provided.

Teams will check in at 3:30 p.m., when the silent auction opens. Teams leave on the Snow Search at 4:15 p.m. and return with their score sheets at 6:15 p.m. The silent auction will close at 6:55 p.m. Winners will be announced and trophies awarded at 7 p.m.
