Lake Ilo - A Kid's Fishing Day will be held starting at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lake Ilo National Wildlife Refuge near Dunn Center in Dunn County. Some rods and reels will be provided and kids can bring their own equipment. A picnic lunch with prizes will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Anyone who wants more information can call 442-5474.

Linton - The 2008 Dairy and Ag Day will be held Friday in Linton, starting with a parade downtown at 11 a.m., an outdoor lunch at the Community Center and coronation of the District 4 Dairy Princess at 1 p.m. There'll be fun games outside the Community Center all afternoon and the day will be capped with a beef and rice dressing dinner and dance to The Ravens starting at 5 p.m. at the Linton Knights of Columbus Hall.

Elgin - Elgin Days celebration will be held Friday through Sunday, with highlights including a variety show at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the community center, followed by an alumni football game at the field. There'll be a grand parade at 10 a.m. Saturday, games, the world's largest banana split served at 12:30 p.m. at Jude's Market and beer gardens and music starting at 7:30 p.m. at the community center. The Elgin Saddle Club Rodeo will start at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Mott - An open house will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hettinger County Courthouse Legion Hall in Mott so the public can learn about the Bison Pipeline project, which involves 290 miles of natural gas pipeline construction from the Powder River Basin in Wyoming to the Northern Border connect near Glen Ullin. Logan County - County wide, voters will decide in the June 10 primary election whether to approve 5 mills taxation for county ambulance services in Napoleon and Gackle. The mills would generate $35,000 for training, equipment and expenses.

Washburn - The annual Falkrik Farmers Elevator stockholders' meeting will be held starting with supper at 6 p.m. June 10 at the Washburn Memorial Building. Also, the Washburn Area Economic Development Association will hold its fourth annual golf tournament at 9 a.m. June 14 at the Painted Woods Golf Course in Washburn. Harmony Lake - The second annual Cops and Kids Fishing Derby will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Harmony Lake north of Hazen. It's hosted by the Mercer County Peace Officers Association and is open to kids through age 14. Fishing will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a hot dog lunch will be provided. Call Sgt. Hebron - The public is invited to the Mayer Theater at 7:30 tonight to see a short film, "Night of Fury," that was produced by FEMA to show the aftermath of a tornado that destroyed most of Northwood last summer. Afterward, the public can talk to state and local emergency and weather officials about what to do to prepare for and remain safe during a tornado.

Dickinson - The public is invited to the unveiling of the Alick and Grayce Dvirnak Native American Collection at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Theodore Roosevelt Center at Dickinson State University's Stoxen Library.

Anamoose - A tongue-in-cheek wedding of Ana to Joe Moose will be held at 3 p.m. June 28 at the Anamoose City Park and the public is invited for music, poetry, a mock wedding and a free catered supper. Buttons and T-shirts are for sale at Heringer Lumber and First State Bank. Also, Fessenden's citywide rummage sale will be held starting at 9 a.m. Saturday and location maps will be available in town. The sale is sponsored by Fessenden Civic and Commerce.
