Icy roads kept North Dakota Highway Patrol troopers busy Wednesday night.
Trooper Dan Krueger said a wreck involving a semi truck and two cars near New Salem sent four people to a Bismarck hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
He said a westbound car on Interstate 94 lost control and crossed the median and struck a semi truck in the east-bound passing lane. The semi driver swerved to try to avoid the car and pushed a car in the eastbound driving lane into the guardrail, Krueger said.
Four people were transported by ambulance to a Bismarck hospital, and Krueger said they were expected to be treated and released.
He said troopers were handling multiple crashes between mile marker 90, which is near Richardton, and New Salem.
"It's very icy out there," he said.
