Hettinger - Hettinger will hold its annual Fun, Food and Craft Festival June 3, with food vendors and merchandise booths on main street. The event also will include a talent show and the Adams County Fair Board's spring fling social and barbeque at the fair building. The day will conclude with a dance at the Mirror Lake band shell.

Elgin - A free fishing day for kids will be held June 4 at Sheep Creek Dam south of Elgin. Kids will meet at 8 a.m. at Our Place Cafe in Elgin, and Lions Club members will provide transportation to the dam, a day of fishing and lunch. Register at True Value in Elgin.

Mott - The Hettinger County Weed Board will disperse Tordon and Curtail chemicals from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Hettinger County shop at Mott. Producers need to bring their restricted-use pesticide licenses and may only pick up chemicals for their own use.

Kidder County - Adults and young people can participate in the 5 plus 5 Summer Challenge with grand prizes in the adult and youth categories.
