GRAND FORKS - Munich native Shelly Klein has joined the staff of Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., as a caseworker and staff assistant, and will work from the senator's Grand Forks regional office to help constituents deal with military and veterans' services, agriculture issues and postal matters.

Klein joins Conrad's staff after more than 10 years with the United States Postal Service. After starting her postal career as city carrier in Langdon, and was later appointed postmaster in Alsen and later Starkweather.

Prior to joining the postal service, Klein served as a negotiator for the North Dakota Agriculture Mediation Service.

Klein is a graduate of the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton.
