The 121 readers who voted in the Tribune's online caucus poll last week vastly preferred Barack Obama on the Democratic side, and preferred Mitt Romney by a slight margin.
The poll's 121 respondents-and yes, we know, that's far too few to make it scientific-gave Obama 56 percent of their votes and Romney 29 percent.
On the Democratic side, recently departed candidate John Edwards got 12 percent and Hillary Clinton got 11 per-cent. Long-shots Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel got 3.3 percent and 2.5 percent respectively. Kucinich has since left the campaign, while Gravel, a former Alaska senator, is soldiering on.
On the Republican side, Romney's 35 percent narrowly edged out a 27 percent showing for John McCain. Ron Paul, whose campaign has attracted a loyal following here and on the Internet, got 19 percent. Rudy Giuliani (who has dropped out) got 5.8 percent, and Mike Huckabee got 5.7 percent.
The real polls - hopefully with slightly better turnout - will be held Tuesday.
