An allegedly intoxicated Mandan woman sprawled in front of her friend's car early Tuesday morning to keep it from leaving.
Mandan Police Sgt. Jay Gruebele said friends tried to drop off a man and a woman around 4 a.m. in southeast Mandan after a night of drinking.
The woman allegedly held onto the car, then threw herself on the ground in front of it to deter friends from leaving.
"She didn't want the party to end, I guess," Gruebele said.
The car drove around her and left. The woman told the man she'd been hit, so he called an ambulance.
The woman was not injured, Gruebele said.
Ambulance workers filed a police report. Mandan police tracked the white Ford Taurus to Bismarck, where they interviewed the driver and another person in the car.
Police will do some more investigating, Gruebele said, but it looks unlikely that any charges will be filed.
