Hettinger - The Hettinger Clinic reopens today at its new location in the West River Health Services Centennial Addition. Patients can reach the clinic through the new entrance and walk straight ahead to admissions.
Also, a town hall-style meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Congregational Church in Hettinger. The few remaining members hope to turn the building into a place for community events and is looking for some individual or organization willing to purchase the building for that purpose.

Medora - Donald Ehli will portray A.T. Packard, the 1880s editor of the Badlands Cowboy, during a "History Alive" program at 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday on the veranda of the Chateau de Mores in Medora. The programs are free and are sponsored by the State Historical Society.

Bowman - The Bowman County Community Band will hold its first practice of the summer season at 8 tonight at the Bowman County High School band room. Anyone who wants to join is welcome.

Killdeer - The Killdeer Public School library will hold a "burger break" fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the American Bank Center parking lot. Proceeds will go toward the library's summer reading program.
Dodge - A final public hearing will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Dodge City Hall on the use of federal funds to assist with the Dodge housing rehabilitation project.

Linton - The 2009 Emmons County Dairy and Ag Day will be held Friday in Linton. A parade will be held at 11 a.m., followed by an outdoor lunch and the coronation of this year's dairy royalty. There also will be fun and games for children throughout the day, concluding with the Dairy Day supper at 5:30 p.m. at the Emmons County Courthouse auditorium.

Elgin - The Missoula Children's Theater will hold auditions for area school-aged children at 3 p.m. June 8 at the Elgin school gym. The students, along with the cast, will practice all week and perform "Rumplestiltskin" at 2 p.m. June 12 and 4 p.m. June 13 at the gym. Tickets are being sold in advance and for slightly higher amount at the door.

Hettinger - The Regent City Council will meet with the community at 7:30 tonight at the American Legion Hall in Regent to discuss ideas for the future of the Regent school property. The buildings will be vacant with all students now attending school at Mott.
Also, the Highway 21 Treasure Hunt and rummage sale held in towns from St. Anthony to New England will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 19 and 20.

Center - A flood community mitigation workshop will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Civic Center in Center. Federal and local officials will discuss flood maps, flood-fighting home improvement projects, and benefits of flood insurance, possible funding sources and other issues.

Sheridan County - Organic farmers are asked to provide notice to the Sheridan County Weed Board if they operate alongside bladed or paved roads and do not want the county to control noxious weeds. Those farmers must provide an alternative weed control. Notice must be given by June 15.

Cedar Lake - The North Dakota Game and Fish Department plans to apply rotenone, a poison, to Cedar Lake in Slope County to kill bullheads, carp and white suckers and introduce more desirable fish species in 2010. Anyone who wants to comment on the project can contact Scott Elstad at the department.
