A mysterious 911 call from a Mandan gas station resulted in a man going to jail Friday morning after being treated for frostbite.
Mandan Police Detective Paul Leingang said dispatchers received a 911 call from the West End Tesoro, located at Sixth Street and West Main Avenue in Mandan at about 4 a.m. Friday, but the caller did not speak.
Leingang said police arrived at the business, which was closed, and saw Waylon Cody, 20, of Bismarck, inside it.
Police then ordered Cody from the business and took him into custody.
Officers at the scene determined that Cody entered the building through a broken window and that he had broken into cars at the business.
Cody was charged with burglary, a class C felony, two counts of breaking into a vehicle, each a class C felony, and criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor.
Leingang said because Cody was not wearing warm clothes, he was taken to the hospital, where he received a medical clearance before being taken to jail. Leingang said Cody was treated for frostbite before being taken to jail.
At his initial court appearance in Morton County, a judge set Cody's bond at $5,000 cash or surety.
