Hettinger - The 47th annual Sheep and Beef Day will be held Feb. 8 at the Hettinger armory, starting at 8:30 a.m. with tours of the Hettinger research station. The armory will open at 9:30 a.m. for morning and afternoon speakers and a noon beef and lamb lunch. For information, call 567-4323.

Medora - The Billings County School Board will hold two meetings to talk about demographics and long-term planning for the school district. The first meeting will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 15 at the DeMores school in Medora. The second will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Prairie School. State law mandates the meetings.

Bowman - The Bowman County Development Corporation will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Bowman City Hall. The meeting is open to the public and memberships will be sold. A planning session will be held after the meeting.

Linton - The 13th annual Dairy Cow College will be held simultaneously at five sites Feb. 6, including the Emmons County Courthouse in Linton. Beach - The Southwest Water Authority will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Beach American Legion Club with rural residents interested in rural water delivery. The project is for the Trotters, Fairfield and south Fryburg area.

Elgin - Adult water aerobics will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. starting Wednesday, and for 10 consecutive Wednesdays and Mondays at the community pool in Elgin. Watford City - The McKenzie County Health Care group will sponsor a chili cook off from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Veterans Memorial Building in Watford City. The community is invited to attend, eat and vote for the best chili team. Also, the Grassy Butte Fireman's Fun Night will be held from 7 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the Grassy Butte Community Hall.
