Linton - The Linton Chamber of Commerce and Linton Hospital Foundation are sponsoring a New Year's Eve gala, starting at 8:30 p.m. at the Linton Knights of Columbus Hall. Carson - Santa Claus Day and Carson Business Club's appreciation lunch will be held from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Grant County Fair building in Carson. The family event is open to everyone and is sponsored by the Carson Women's Club and Carson Business Club. Also, the community's Christmas lighting judging for residences and businesses will be held Dec. 15.

Center - Center will be all about Christmas music in the coming week. It begins with the elementary school performance at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the school gym, continues with the annual Christmas Cantata at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the school gym and concludes with the high school Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 15, also at the gym. The theme for the community Cantata is "An Evening in December," and will feature 50 singers from Hannover, New Salem, Center and Stanton. All performances are free.
