Four men have been charged with burglary for allegedly breaking into a Bismarck apartment early Thursday morning.

Matthew Juahsayman Marsah, 24, Abram John Bruguier, 25, Brandon McKay, 33, and Theopile Luke Bruguier Jr., 23, were charged Thursday with Class B felony burglary. Marsah also was charged with Class Cfelony contact with bodily fluids and Class Amisdemeanor resisting arrest.

South Central District Judge Tom Schneider set bond for Marsah, Abram Bruguier and McKay at $5,000 and bond for Theopile Bruguier at $2,500. Theopile Bruguier's bond was set lower due to a less extensive criminal history than the co-defendants.

Bismarck Police Lt. Randy Ziegler said a woman in northeast Bismarck called 911 at 12:55 a.m. Thursday to report a group of men wearing bandannas on their faces had broken down the door of her apartment. She said she asked who the men were when they began knocking and she couldn't understand what they were saying, and the men kicked the door in to gain entry to the home.

A man at the apartment ran out another door when the men burst in, Burleigh County Assistant State's Attorney Ty Turner said. Ziegler said several of the group followed after him and assaulted him, yielding minor injuries.

Turner said there appears to be a "connection" between the man at the apartment and the defendants. He said the purpose of the home invasion appears to have been for revenge or intimidation.

Three children were in the apartment at the time of the alleged burglary, making it a "scary" situation, Turner said.

Police put out information to area law enforcement agencies about the possible suspects in the burglary, and Burleigh County sheriff's deputies pulled over a vehicle with occupants matching the description of the men, including the bandannas, Ziegler said.

Turner said the car was pulled over following a suspected gas drive-off.

According to court documents, Marsah has been accused of spitting on a Burleigh County sheriff's deputy during his arrest and of fighting with officers as they attempted to transfer him to the custody of the Burleigh County Detention Center.

The men were booked into the Burleigh County Detention Center at around 5 a.m.

Schneider prohibited the men from having contact with the couple at the apartment.
