The Bismarck Police Department released information Monday on five convicted sex offenders now living in Bismarck.
One is a high-risk offender, and four are moderate-risk offenders.
Joseph L. Brown Jr., a high-risk sex offender, is now living at 1119 University Drive, No. 920 (Click here for map).
According to a Bismarck Police Department release, Brown, 54, has multiple convictions for sexual offenses.
The North Dakota attorney general's sex offender Web site says Brown was convicted in federal court in 1969 of assault with intent to commit rape after assaulting a 3-year-old girl; in 1982 in Burleigh County, of felonious restraint for forcing his way into a car driven by a 14-year-old girl; in Beltrami District Court in Minnesota in 1988, for forcibly raping a woman he met at a music festival; and in 1996 in Morton County, for gross sexual imposition for forcibly raping a woman who had given him a ride in her car.
Alwin E. Ducheneaux, a moderate-risk offender, is now living at 501 Memorial Highway Apt. No. 3 (Click here for map).
Ducheneaux, 28, also is known as Alwin Hawk Bear Jr., according to a Bismarck police release.
Police say Ducheneaux was convicted in 1996 in South Dakota federal court of performing sexual acts on a 7-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl.
Michael Demery, a moderate-risk offender, is now living at 315 W. Indiana Ave (Click here for map).
Demery, 22, was convicted in federal court in 2005 of sexual abuse of a minor for committing a sexual act with a 12-year-old girl, according to a release from the Bismarck Police Department.
Geoff O. Lynch, a moderate-risk offender, is now living at Bismarck Motor Hotel, 2301 E. Main Ave. No. 45 (Click here for map).
Lynch, 32, was convicted in Rolette County in 2001 of gross sexual imposition for performing a sexual act on a 15-year-old girl while she was sleeping, a release from the Bismarck Police Department said.
The release said he also was convicted of criminal trespass in a similar incident involving a 21-year-old woman, but he was not charged with a sex offense in that case.
John J. Moran, a moderate-risk offender, is now living in Bismarck at 628 N. 29th St (Click here for map).
According to a Bismarck Police Department release, Moran, 34, was convicted in federal court in 1999 of molesting a 12-year-old girl on a North Dakota reservation in 1998. He also has been convicted twice for failure to register as a sex offender.
Police say none of the men are wanted by authorities, and all five have served the sentences imposed by law. Some of the men have been living in Bismarck, but changed addresses.
The information is being shared with the public for safety reasons only, and is not to be used to threaten, harass or intimidate the registered offenders, the releases say.
