Knowing the right Web address can save a lot of hassle for job seekers in North Dakota.
Job Service North Dakota recently reported to the attorney general's office that there's a copycat Web site that promotes commercial job ads and job-finding services that users have to pay for.
Those looking for the official Job Service Web site should go to www.jobsnd.com or link to the site by starting at www.nd.gov.
The copycat site, www.jobservicend.com, is run out of British Columbia, Canada. It shows a home page with solemn looking workers in professional black attire and has links with titles like "Nursing Jobs" and "Jobs in Fargo Nd." The links redirect the user to various advertisements, many of which have nothing to do with North Dakota.
Job Service was made aware of the fake Web site by several tricked users who called Job Service to complain that its Web site was difficult to navigate.
