BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A few more flu cases are being reported in North Dakota, though the flu season is not expected to peak until next year.
Health officials reported seven flu cases in the state this week - three more than last week. They said five counties are reporting flu activity.
Last year at this time, the state had two cases of the flu. For the year, it had more than 2,100 cases.
No one has been reported hospitalized because of it so far, health officials said.
"Usually, the peak season for influenza doesn't happen until after the new year," said Michelle Feist, the state influenza surveillance coordinator. "For instance, last year we peaked in the second week in March, so there's plenty of time to get vaccinated."
