The water might have been a good place to be in Sunday's record heat - but a group of people are in trouble for allegedly trying to get a jump on the crowds at the swimming pool.

Police were called to Wachter Aquatic Center, 205 E. Reno Ave., at 1:36 a.m. Sunday for a report of people trespassing on pool property, said Sgt. Mark Buschena, of the Bismarck Police Department. He said responding officers found six people still in the pool.

The group had apparently climbed the locked fence to get into the pool, Buschena said.

Three Bismarck girls were cited and released to the custody of their parents, Buschena said.

A 17-year-old girl was cited for criminal trespass and curfew, and another 17-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl were cited for criminal trespass, curfew and minor in consumption, Buschena said.

Three Bismarck men were taken to jail, processed and released, Buschena said.

Paul Fraase, assistant city attorney, said an 18-year-old man and two 22-year-old men have not yet been charged.
