Morton County authorities Wednesday identified a man whose body was found in the Missouri River last month but said they still are investigating what brought him to North Dakota.
Thomas Farley, 42, died of drowning, Morton County Sheriff Bob Erhardt said. Farley originally was from Boise, Idaho, but his last address was Denver, Erhardt said.
"We're trying to figure out what he was doing here and what caused the drowning," Erhardt said.
Farley's body was found June 24 by some people fishing on the river south of Mandan. Authorities said he had no identification, and they did not find any personal belongings. There was no sign of foul play.
