A Mandan woman was charged with burglary and criminal mischief after telling police she had broken a window to escape a man in a Bismarck car dealership.
Shilolyn Black Lance, 32, was charged Monday with Class C felony charges of burglary and criminal mischief.
South Central District Judge Robert Wefald set bond for Black Lance at $1,500 cash or surety Monday at the Burleigh County Courthouse.
Black Lance also is prohibited from having contact with Veracity Motors.
Bismarck Police Sgt. Mark Buschena said attendants at a gas station on Main Avenue called police to report a woman cut and bleeding at 6:35 a.m. Monday.
The woman said she had been working inside Veracity Motors, 1701 E. Main Ave., and had to break a window to get away from a man she was working with who began chasing her, Buschena said.
He said the owners of the dealership were contacted and said Black Lance does not work at the dealership.
According to court documents, the break in at Veracity Motors resulted in more than $2,000 damage to the building and a Chrysler Sebring parked inside.
Buschena said damage to a window at the business was estimated at $500 and damage to a door and lock was estimated at $250. Two car windows and a car body panel also were damaged, he said.
