The 40th anniversary of Zip to Zap will be fun if the sun shines, and even if it doesn't.
Organizers have planned a daylong party and community celebration Saturday, and everyone, especially those who were there back in 1969, is welcome.
The day will start with a duck race at 1 p.m., followed by a car show at 2 p.m. There will be plenty of food with a pork roast served at 5 p.m., along with burgers made up by the Zap Community Club and food from Famous Dave's.
A polka and country and western band will play from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Zap Community Hall, or outside if it's nice. Fuzz and the Guns will start up at 9 p.m. on an outside stage, weather pending.
Keith Kasanke, Zip to Zap committee member, said a motorcycle run will leave from Zap at 11 a.m. and return to Zap in time for the pork roast supper. All times are Mountain time.
Anyone who wants more information about events or where to camp at Zap can call Kasanke's cell at 701-400-2254 or landline at 701-948-2254.
