Forty-five North Dakota National Guard soldiers have returned to the U.S. after about a year in Iraq.
Guard officials say the Bismarck-based 34th Engineer Brigade arrived at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, on Sunday night.
Maj. Gen. Dave Sprynczynatyk, the Guard commander, and other Guard officers were there to greet the soldiers. The unit is expected to be back in North Dakota later this week.
In Iraq, the soldiers worked on construction projects.
