A28-year-old Bismarck man was taken to the hospital with a stab wound Saturday morning and his roommate, also 28, was arrested on suspicion of the stabbing, police said.

Elias Ramirez, of 700 S. 12th St., was taken to the hospital with a stab wound to his stomach. Lindsay A. Ironwood, also of 700 S. 12th St., was arrested on suspicion of committing the stabbing.

The men lived there with Ramirez's 27-year-old wife, whose name police declined to release.

Police say the stabbing took place at the residence around 10: 30 a.m., but are still investigating the circumstances that led to it.

When the residents called 911 seeking treatment for Ramirez, they said it was a self-inflicted stab wound.

However, as police investigated, they believed that to not be the case and took Ironwood into custody.

He is facing charges of aggravated assault.
