Fire destroys Bismarck garage

A fire destroyed a three-stall garage in Bismarck on Saturday.

Bismarck Police Lt. Dan Donlin said officers were called to the fire at 810 S. 17th Street at 12:35 a.m. Saturday. Officers said smoke was coming out of the roof of the garage, which was not attached to the home, when they arrived, Donlin said.

He said Stephen Andrews, the resident of the home, was driving a vehicle out of the garage when police arrived.

The fire did not appear suspicious, Donlin said. He said the blaze caused $20,000 to the garage and $4,500 damage to a 1985 Chevy Suburban.
