State officials say unemployment in North Dakota last month was 2.5 percent, up slightly from a year earlier, but down from September.
Job Service North Dakota officials say it's the lowest in the nation, but other states' rates are seasonally adjusted while North Dakota's is not.
Job Service says the state'sOctober jobless rate was 0.2 percent higher than a year earlier but 0.3 percent below that of September.
The national seasonally adjusted October unemployment rate was 6.5 percent.
North Dakota Job Service Executive Director Maren Daley says 9,225 state residents were unemployed last month while 362,630 North Dakotans had jobs.
