A Mandan man has died in a rollover wreck of a boom truck.
The 26-year-old man's name has not been released, pending notification of family.
According to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the man was driving south on North Dakota Highway 6 to a work site in Breien in a 1977 Ford boom truck at 10:10 a.m. An investigation indicates the truck left the road, with its passenger-side tires dropping onto the shoulder.
The truck was pulled toward the bottom of a steep ditch. The driver steered to the left in an attempt to return to the road. The driver lost control of the truck on the slope of the ditch, and it slid sideways onto the roadway and overturned one and a half times.
The man, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the truck and died at the scene.
