A Bismarck woman has been charged with a Class Cfelony for hanging up the telephone as her boyfriend called 911.
Shannon Buman, 24, was charged Monday with interference with telephone during emergency call. She has been released on 10 percent of a $1,500 bond, as set by South Central District Court Judge Bruce Haskell, according to court documents.
Lt. Dan Donlin said a 29-year-old man at the apartment complex at 2112 E. Divide Ave. called 911 Friday night at 11:37. The phone was hung up, so the operator tried to call back, and the phone was not answered, Donlin said.
Officers responded to the apartment and learned the man had been arguing with his live-in girlfriend, Buman, Donlin said. During the argument, which both parties say never became physical, the man dialed 911, Donlin said.
Buman also is alleged to have pulled the telephone out of the wall when the 911 operator called back, Donlin said.
She was arrested and placed in the Burleigh County Detention Center at 1:10 a.m. Saturday.
