The forecast for Thanksgiving Day doesn't include above-average temperatures that have spoiled North Dakotans this month, but it could be worse.
High temperatures on Turkey Day are forecast to be in the lower 30s with a chance of precipitation.
Bill Abeling, a forecaster with the National Weather Service, said if there is rain or snow, it isn't expected to be heavy.
"I don't foresee any travel problems for now," Abeling said.
While daytime temperatures will hover around the freezing mark for much of the week, temperatures will drop beginning tonight and Wednesday before warming up again.
Today's highs are estimated to be in the lower 30s, but tonight is expected to be one of the coldest nights of the week, with lows dipping into the single digits. On Wednesday the highs will be in the upper 20s.
A warm front will move in from the west starting Thursday, but temperatures aren't expected to be as nice as the past two weeks.
Abeling said the weather is trending toward what is considered normal at this time of year.
"I don't think we'll return to having temperatures in the fifties for quite a while," Abeling said.
Friday's temperature will range from a low in the teens to low 20s and a high in the upper 20s to lower 30s.
