Two women were booked into jail early Wednesday morning - suspects in smashing, with a tire iron, windows in six vehicles Tuesday evening, said BismarckPolice Sgt. Dwight Offerman.
Conspiracy to commit unlawful entry into a vehicle, a Class C felony, and conspiracy to commit criminal mischief, a Class A misdemeanor, were filed Wednesday against Brittni Renee Kesterson, 21, of Mandan, and Stephanie Marie Rudolph, 27, of Mandan. South Central District Judge Robert Wefald set bond Wednesday at $1,000 cash or surety for each woman.
Justin Schwarz, a Burleigh County assistant state's attorney, said Kesterson has no previous criminal history. Rudolph has past convictions for driving under the influence, minor in possession and hindering law enforcement.
Offerman said Tuesday's crimes, which caused a total of about $1,700 in damage, took place from about 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, mostly in northeast Bismarck.
He said police were able to track the suspects down after finding the women's vehicle, a silver-colored Honda, which matched the description witnesses gave police.
Offerman said the alleged crimes took place at the following locations:3400 block of Crocus Avenue, one window, $300; 1300 East Capitol Ave., one window, $200; 1700 block of East Capitol Avenue, one window, $250; 1900 block of North 19th Street, two windows and a sunroof, $500; 2200 block of East Divide Avenue, one window, $200; 400 block of South 15th Street, one window, $250.
