FARGO - Two leaders of the North Dakota Army National Guard's 188th Army Band will retire this week after each serving as soldiers for 37 years.
The Guard will honor Chief Warrant Officer William R. Franke of Mandan and 1st Sgt. Jeff Sjoquist of West Fargo during an awards presentation Friday.
Franke has served as bandmaster since 1980.
The band's new first sergeant, Michael J. Koshney of Fargo, will be promoted during Friday's ceremony.
The ceremony will be at the Fargo Armed Forces Reserve Center, 3920 31st St. N.W., Fargo.
