A reception for outgoing Mandan Mayor Ken LaMont will be held from 3:30 to 5:15 p.m. Tuesday at Mandan City Hall. The event is open to the public.
LaMont was first elected in 2000, re-elected in 2004 and withstood a recall vote in 2006.
Retiring City Commissioner Dan Ulmer will be out of town. Ulmer was first elected in 1992. He ran successfully for re-election in 1996, 2000, 2004 and also withstood a recall vote in 2006. Ulmer's last meeting was June 3.
Both LaMont and Ulmer chose not to seek re-election in 2008. Cards and well wishes also may be sent to them in care of City Hall at 205 2nd Avenue NW, Mandan, N.D. 58554.
At the commission meeting, which begins at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, the current Commission will certify the results of the election, LaMont will swear in Mandan's new mayor Tim Helbling and new city commissioner Thomas Jackson will be seated.
