One business changed hands, and another closed in Bismarck over the weekend.

The Green Mill restaurant unexpectedly closed its doors for good Saturday, leaving about 65 full-time and part-time employees looking for other jobs, said Keith Evan, a manager at the restaurant.

Evan said the owner of the franchise was out on vacation. The building is not owned by the franchisee, Evan said, but the business continues to hold a lease on the property.

But across town, Wentz Auto Center's car lot was filled up again, and opened under new ownership and a new name Monday morning:Dvorak Motors Inc.

DeLayne Dvorak and partner Bob Porter, both from Dickinson, bought the business from Darcy James Wentz, who was recently charged with several drug-related felonies.

The transaction for the entire property, building and lot, which included 20 cars left over in Wentz's inventory, was completed on Sunday, Dvorak said. Now the lot has about 87 pre-owned vehicles, with about 65 more on the way, he said.

Dvorak also kept on all nine of Wentz's employees and plans to add more as the business grows.

This is Dvorak's first dabble in car lot ownership, he said. He and Porter worked together at Porter's dealership for about 19 years.

"He thought it was time I go out on my own," Dvorak said.

Dvorak, who was excited to get the business under way, said his new signage will go up by the end of the week.
