A 12-year-old boy has been cited with aggravated assault for allegedly shooting a 10-year-old girl with a BB gun.
Bismarck Police Lt. Randy Ziegler said the girl told a teacher at Myhre Elementary School, 919 S. 12th St., about the shooting, and school officials called police.
An officer observed two welts on the girl's thigh, apparently from being shot, Ziegler said.
He said the 12-year-old boy was arrested and placed in the Youth Correctional Center after interviews with him and witnesses.
