A moderate-risk sex offender is now living in Bismarck.

Terry Dean Kautzman, 47, now lives at 330 W. Indiana Ave. He is required to register for the remainder of his life.

Kautzman was convicted in 2006 in Oliver County of gross sexual imposition and terrorizing. He choked and slammed a woman into a wall until she was unconscious, then removed her clothing, raped her and dressed her again before calling 911. Kautzman was found not guilty of attempted murder.

South Central District Judge Tom Schneider sentenced Terry Kautzman to 10 years with seven years suspended and five years supervised probation for gross sexual imposition and five years with two years suspended and five years supervised probation for terrorizing. He was released recently from prison.

According to a release from the Bismarck Police Department, the information is being given to the public for safety reasons.

"This information is not to be used to threaten, harass, assault or intimidate the registered offenders," the release said.
