A woman charged Monday for several drug offenses was not a student teacher at a Bismarck high school as previously reported.
Anna Johnson, 24, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver within 1,000 feet of a school, a Class Afelony; endangerment of a child, a Class Cfelony; and possession of drug paraphernalia associated with marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor.
Burleigh County Assistant State's Attorney Ty Turner said Monday that Johnson told the court at her initial appearance that she was a student teacher at Bismarck High School.
BHS principal Ken Erickson said Johnson has no association with the high school at this time.
"She is not a student here. She is not a student teacher here,"he said.
"She did express an interest in doing a job shadow experience with Bismarck Public Schools, but she has not been in any of our schools for that reason," Renae Hoffmann Walker, community relations director for the Bismarck Public School District, said in a statement.
Johnson is free on a $1,000 cash bond.
Bismarck Police Lt. Dan Donlin said officers responded to a report of a loud party at an apartment at 515 N. 12th St. at 1:34 a.m. Saturday. An officer detected the odor of marijuana and asked to come in, Donlin said.
He said Johnson allowed the officer to enter, and the officer saw drug paraphernalia. Officers applied for and received a search warrant, he said.
Donlin said detectives found 10 individual baggies of marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia. Johnson was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, he said.
According to an affidavit from Detective Cody Trom, at least one minor was exposed to the drugs.
