Elgin - A Thanksgiving dinner for everyone will be served at noon Thanksgiving Day at the Elgin Community Center. A freewill offering will be taken, and proceeds will go to offset any costs of preparing the dinner. The dinner is sponsored by the Elgin Economic Development Corporation and folks from Elgin and the surrounding area are invited. Also, the Jacobson Memorial Hospital Care Center will hold its annual meeting at 7 tonight at the Elgin Community Center. The hospital auxiliary will hold a barbecue dinner at 6 p.m.

New England - The New England Community Arts Committee will present "Christmas in New England III," at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New England. Refreshments will be served after each performance. The event includes string, brass, children's and mixed ensembles.
