The North Dakota Veterans Cemetery will take part in Wreaths Across America this weekend.
On Saturday, seven wreaths will be placed on memorials honoring veterans and those who are at war.
"It is an event done to honor those who have served," Connie Nikiforoff, a captain in the Bismarck squadron of the U.S. Civil Air Patrol, said.
This is the second year that Wreaths Across America is a nationwide event. It began at Arlington National Cemetery. All services will be held concurrently at noon eastern standard time. There are 250 services on U.S. soil and 24 overseas.
"It is going to become a large event," Nikiforoff said.
The event will take place in the cemetery chapel, unless it is an unusually warm day. Service leaders of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine and POW/MIA will put each wreath on its stand in memory of those who have served.
"Those who went (to last year's event) were impressed and moved," Nikiforoff said.
