People can amble up and down the road from St. Anthony to New England on Friday and Saturday for the annual rummage sale and Highway 21 Treasure Hunt.
The seventh annual event will feature nearly 100 rummage sales along a 100-mile stretch, and participants can register along the way for a $100 grand prize.
Sales will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. MDT in St. Anthony, Flasher, Carson, Elgin, New Leipzig, Mott, Regent and New England. Rural residents also will be holding sales and people should watch for signs along the highway.
Coordinator Luann Dart of Elgin said the annual Highway 21 Treasure Hunt is the largest rummage sale in North Dakota, and possibly in the upper Midwest.
"It really is fun to travel the route and browse all the sales in the communities," Dart said. Call her at 584-2172 for information.
You can pick up local rummage sale listings in St. Anthony-Flasher at Fitterer Oil and Gas, Highway 21 Cafe and PJ's Farm Supply; in Carson at S&V Country Market and Cowboy Country Cafe; in Elgin at Our Place Cafe and Reiny's Drive In; in New Leipzig at Star Grocery; in Mott at Pheasant Cafe; in Regent at Metal Magic; and in New England at the New England Community Store.
