The North Dakota Game and Fish Department is proceeding with a lead removal project from the McLean shooting range located near the Oahe boat ramp south of Bismarck.

The project was initially scheduled to begin in early August, but weather problems caused a delay for the contractor.

The range will be closed beginning Monday. The pistol range - located a half-mile to the east - will be closed through Wednesday.

The rifle range will be closed for approximately two weeks, weather permitting.

The project will consist of the removal of recovered lead at the rifle and pistol ranges. Screened soil will be used as additional berm material at the range.

The Game and Fish Department will issue a press release when the range opens upon completion.
