The alleged assault of a Bismarck woman reportedly caused her boyfriend to retaliate Thursday morning.
Mandan police responded to a 911 call at 4:15 a.m. Thursday. The caller said someone had broken in and threatened to assault a person there. The caller said the trespasser fled, and gave police a description of his vehicle. On the way to the scene, officers saw a vehicle that matched the description, said Mandan Police Lt. Paul Leingang. Some officers stopped the vehicle, Leingang said, and others proceeded to the residence.
The driver of the car, a 20-year-old Bismarck man, was arrested for burglary and terrorizing. His passenger, a Bismarck woman, said the man who lived at the residence had assaulted her earlier, choking her until she passed out. Police arrested the 24-year-old man at the Mandan residence for aggravated assault.
Charges against the Bismarck man are pending in Morton County; charges against the Mandan man are pending in Burleigh County.
