A rummage sale will support the Arlis Saxon Eco-Kid Project at Prairie Rose Elementary School. The project, in its second year, will expand to all students this year. Students come up with projects to help the environment, like planting trees. The sale is 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 1521 Clipper Place in Southport.

The project was started by Bismarck resident Gwyn Ridenhour in memory of her grandmother Arlis Saxon. She started it at her children's school with the levels of service program. The project received a $1,000 Disney Family Great Green Challenge grant.

Ridenhour hopes to expand the program into all Bismarck Public Schools by fall 2009.
