Light snow remains in the forecast for the weekend, with the area possibly warming up to the 20s on Sunday and Monday, a meteorologist said.
The area was supposed to be hit the hardest with Friday night snow, then receive light accumulation through the rest of the weekend, said Harlyn Wetzel, meteorologist with the National Weather Service office in Bismarck.
A winter weather advisory was anticipated to expire at 6 this morning. Winds may get up to 15 to 20 mph, with the possibility of blowing snow and high drifts, Wetzel said.
Since Dec. 1, the Bismarck area has received a record-breaking 24.4 inches of snow. In December 1916, the area got 21.7 inches. The total this year in Bismarck is 36.9 inches of snow.
