Horse Fest under way

Friday in Taylor, the 15th annual Horse Fest started. The festivities continue today, starting off with a 10 a.m. all-horse parade.

Military veterans will be honored as the parade marshals and, starting at 11 a.m., a lunch will be hosted in their honor at the Taylor Emmanuel Church.

After the parade, the main festivities will began at Heritage Hill. To enter, a $10 button must be purchased, except for children 12 and under.

On Heritage Hill, attendees will be able to see horses used for threshing, mowing, haying, cultivating, binding and many other manual demonstrations. Also available will be craft venders and food.

From noon to 4 p.m., the North Dakota Auctioners Association will have an auction of the members' personal items with all sales going to charity.

In the evening, the Taylor Horse Fest musical will give its second performance at 7:30. The theme is Hee-Haw. Tickets are $10.
