Sioux Falls, S.D., author Linda J. Johnson will be at the Bismarck Barnes & Noble Booksellers location Thursday to sign copies of her book, "Living in the Shadow of the Iraq Conflict: Our Story from a Military Contractor's Wife."
Johnson will be on hand to sign books from 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Military contractors provide specialized expertise, products and service to war efforts; when Johnson's husband, Richard, responded to a recruitment ad for a military contractor in 2005, their lives were changed forever, according to her book.
Richard Johnson works as a coordinator and mechanic in the Green Zone of Baghdad while Linda Johnson stays behind. Her book focuses on the ups and downs of military life and persevering with faith and pride in his work.
Linda Johnson has a bachelor's in business administration with a master's and doctorate in Christian education and has served as a chaplain, minister and global missionary. She remains involved with several community organizations and is very active supporting her husband and his team.
