Folkfest events begin this week. Here's the schedule:

Thursday

Wells Fargo Bank "Lunch on Us" - Downtown Bismarck Wells Fargo location and Downtown Mandan Wells Fargo location - 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Dakota Community Bank's Folkfest Kids' Night - West Main Street Mandan (Depot) - 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Dakota Community Bank's Folkfest Kid's Parade will start at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by games and prizes from 7 to 8 p.m. The parade is for children up to age 12. There will be no motorized vehicles.

Friday

Downtowner's Street Fair -10 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Broadway between Third and Sixth streets.

Apple Pie and Dessert Baking Contest, sponsored by St. Alexius Community Credit Union - 818 E. Main Ave. - 9 a.m.-noon. For information, contact Joy at 530-7180.

Bank Center First's "BANKFEST" - 11a.m.-2 p.m. Brats and beverage will be served at 320 N. Fourth St., 1102 E Interstate Ave. and 325 W Arbor Ave. locations. Cost is $2..

Beer and Brats with BAGA - 422 E. Front Ave. - Noon-11p.m.

Great Plains Polka Fest - AMVETS Club Post 9, 2402 Railroad Ave. - 5:30-10:30 p.m.

Folkfest Blues Festival -Bismarck VFW, 1326 E. Broadway - 7:30 p.m.

Family Music and Magic Night - Belle Mehus Auditorium - 7 p.m.

Saturday

Downtowner's Street Fair - 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Free Spirit Trikers: Shine & Show - Burleigh County Courthouse - 10 a.m. to noon.

Great Plains Polka Fest - AMVETS Club - noon-midnight.

Harmony Music Festival - Missouri Valley Fair Grounds, Bismarck - noon.

Family Music & Magic Night - Belle Mehus Auditorium - 7 p.m.

Sept. 17

Central Dakota Humane Society Shaggy Shuffle - North Dakota State Capitol - 11 a.m. registration, with a 1 p.m. start.

6th annual Folkfest Tractor Pull - Dacotah Speedway, Mandan - 1 p.m.

Great Plains Polka Fest and Polka Mass - AMVETS Club - 9:45 a.m. to 9 p.m.
