Treasures of all sorts have made the sale bill for Bismarck's annual city auction.
The auction is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, with bike sales leading the way, followed by small items, city-owned property, city vehicles and impounded vehicles.
Numerous bicycles, found by police and never claimed by the rightful owners throughout the year, are sold every year at the sale. This year's sale features approximately 165 bikes, with brands including Schwinn, Huffy, Murray, Mongoose and Roadmaster.
Small items on this year's roster include desks, bookshelves, tools, computer equipment, fencing supplies, mirrors, hand dryers and baby changing stations.
The city will be selling trucks and miscellaneous machinery, including snowblowers and lawn mowers. Many impounded and city-owned vehicles also will be sold.
Ken Thomsen of Thomsen's 4 Winds Auction will be the auctioneer. All items are sold "as is, where is, without warranty or guarantee,"according to a sale bill. Cash and bankable checks can be used to purchase items. Lunch will be served.
The sale will be at the City Impound Lot, 2011 N. 52nd St.
A public viewing of the items will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. today at the impound lot.
