A Mandan woman has been charged with theft after allegedly stealing a money bag from a business while employees were busy.
Gayle Sweeney, 40, was charged with the Class B misdemeanor on Wednesday.
Mandan Police Chief Dennis Bullinger said employees at Hair Professionals, 220 W. Main St., called police at 10:47 a.m. Tuesday after a money bag was stolen.
Bullinger said Sweeney has been accused of swiping the bag while employees were busy. He said Sweeney went into the business to use the telephone.
She was arrested later at her home, where the money bag and more than $100 were recovered, Bullinger said.
A trial in the case has been set for Aug. 27 in Mandan Municipal Court.
